The Wonders of Kanten
Kanten has been recognized as a "no limited" food by the World Health Organization.
It has no taste and smell but can nevertheless be used as an ingredient in combination with other seasonings. In this case, it is eaten with light syrup and soy powder. I thoroughly enjoyed this. I would never have thought dietary snacks would turn out delicious!!
Kanten is a natural sea vegetable that contains 80.9% fibre and absolutely no carbohydrates, sugar, and fat! Because of its great nutrituonal value, kanten has been widely used as a dietary tool. Dietary food doesn't have to be boring. You can spice up your kanten with healthy and natural flavours like raspberry, mango, and green tea extract. Green tea kanten was my favourite.
Longan and passionfruit kanten were surprisingly good. Kanten may look like jellies, but they are much firmer and more resistant to cracking. I really liked the texture.
How do dieters benefit from kanten consumption?
1. Kanten expands in volume by absorbing water in the stomach, which leads to satiety. A small amount of kanten is good enough to provide a long feeling of fullness. When kanten slows down your glucose absorption in the intestine, you naturally consume less calorie. Keep in mind that because kanten contains a good balance of nutrition but no calories, it is beneficial for your health.
2. Kanten allows the glucose in the stomach to enter the intestine slowly. The ease with which the glucose is absorbed into the bloodstream prevents your blood sugar level from soaring. This process inhibits the body from retaining excessive fat.
3. Kanten's fibre shortens the time food passes through the digestive system. This short duration lowers the risk of intestinal problems. Furthermore, the dietary fiber helps to retain water in the intestines, which leads to rapid and easy bowel movement.
4. Kanten absorbs bile acid when cholesterol is dissolved. In order to replace the bile acid, cholesterol has to be dissolved. This effect will decrease the amount of cholesterol.
